Jayne Wright

Jayne joined Stringwise 5 years ago and has enjoyed every moment since then. Stringwise gives her the chance to work with an experienced talented team and highly motivated young musicians.  Jayne graduated from Trent Polytechnic in 1990. She studied Creative Arts BAhons. She believes that Music and Art are partners and throughout her career she has been able to explore and practise both disciplines. Jayne did her first PGCE at Greenwich University and taught Design & Technology in secondary schools. Her second PGCE (managing D&T in secondary education) was studied at Sheffield Hallam University. Jayne has also taught Music in secondary schools and continues to work with GCSE music pupils in the secondary schools in which she currently teaches.

In 2004 Jayne began teaching for Haringey Music service.She joined an inspiring string team, teaching whole class, groups and individuals the violin in primary and secondary schools.

Jayne has travelled and worked in Europe, New Zealand and South America. She taught in Madrid for 4 years and learnt Spanish. Jayne continues to have violin lessons with Cecily Mendelssohn, as she believes being a student makes her a better and more empathetic teacher.
